Why I'm Running
I'm Guy McCoy, a retired U.S. Navy and Coast Guard veteran, as well as a longtime District 2 renter and independent thinker. I'm asking for your support for Supervisor because I believe local government should focus on practical results using common sense policies while maintaining fiscal responsibility. Safe neighborhoods, housing working people can afford, cleaner streets, and a better-functioning city government that helps neighborhood businesses succeed instead of burying them in unnecessary delay.
Public Safety and Fentanyl
Supports full police staffing, improving accountability for response times, strengthening coordination with other agencies against fentanyl trafficking, while working towards eliminating open-air drug activity and ensure help is available for those who need it..
Housing and Affordability
Supports practical reforms that make office-to-residential conversions easier, reduce unnecessary barriers and red tape, and create stronger incentives for landlords and Real Estate developers to create housing that working and middle-class residents can actually afford.
Quality of Life
Safe, clean, functional neighborhoods should not be a luxury. It should be something ALL San Franciscans can experience. I will push for cleaner streets, better city services, fewer vacant storefronts, and stronger accountability for how city services are delivered. Throughout the city.
Small Business Fast Track
Create one clear intake point, one assigned city contact, coordinated reviews where legally possible, fewer unnecessary duplicate reviews, and clear decision deadlines- while preserving health, fire, safety, and accessibility protections.
